The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in Turkistan, southern Kazakhstan, was commissioned by Timur in the late 14th century and never finished. The scaffolding came down, the empire moved on, and the tilework stayed — turquoise and cobalt geometry laid brick by brick, still holding its colour under a hard steppe sun six hundred years later.

And a man walks past it on his way somewhere, the way you walk past anything you see every day.

That's the frame: unfinished monumental craftsmanship on one half, an ordinary Tuesday on the other. Shot on the road through Central Asia, not from a tripod at golden hour.
